Junior cornerback Vernon Hargreaves is the lone University of Florida player on the preseason All-SEC first team.
But of all the defensive players selected, he was the stone-cold lock.
Hargreaves led the defensive balloting on the first team, selected by the SEC media attending Media Days in Hoover, Ala., and released on Friday. The junior from Tampa received 186 points (linebacker Reggie Ragland of Alabama was next on the defense with 181) and only Georgia running back Nick Chubb (189) had more points.
